Internationally acclaimed Detroit Symphony Orchestra to perform free concert at EMU's Pease Auditorium Oct. 1
The world renowned Detroit Symphony Orchestra will perform a free concert at Eastern Michigan University's Pease Auditorium at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1.
(Media-Newswire.com) - The world renowned Detroit Symphony Orchestra will perform a free concert at Eastern Michigan University's Pease Auditorium at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1.
The concert is sponsored by the DTE Energy Foundation, and is part of a community series of events by the DSO. The free tickets have been distributed to EMU students, staff and the community.
"We are privileged and excited to have the Detroit Symphony Orchestra visit Eastern for this wonderful night of music," said EMU President Susan Martin. "The DSO is one of the world's truly great orchestras. We so appreciate this visit, and the community efforts of the DTE Energy Foundation."

The DSO, the fourth-oldest symphony orchestra in the United States, is known for its distinct, trailblazing performances, visionary maestros and collaborations with the world's foremost musical artists.
The DSO makes its home in historic Orchestra Hall, one of America's most acoustically perfect concert halls, and actively pursues a mission to impact and serve the community through music.
Esteemed conductor Leonard Slatkin, called "America's Music Director" by the Los Angeles Times, became the 12th Music Director of the DSO during the 2008-09 season. For more information visit www.dso.org
