(Media-Newswire.com) - Tiger Woods returns to Augusta National Golf Club next month and will resume his career at The Masters tournament on April 8, 2010. Tiger Woods has been out of action due to personal issues with his marriage but issued a statement that he will play golf professionally next month at the Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia.
Golf experts also predicted he would not skip the Masters Tournament in 2010 due to its prestige and Woods' success in the past at the event.
A statement that was released today by Tiger Woods contained the following part:
"The Masters is where I won my first major and I view this tournament with great respect. After a long and necessary time away from the game, I feel like I'm ready to start my season at Augusta..."
Access to the event will be under heavy security which will be a concern for organizers. With Woods being out of golf for over four months, combined with his admissions of infidelity, the scene at the Augusta club will be tightly secured in preparation for the April event.
Woods has been out of golfing action since late last year when he was involved in an incident at his Florida home where he crashed his SUV into a fire hydrant. Later details emerged that the star had several extra-marital affairs which forced him into extensive therapy.
