The host arena for the college basketball games is the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
Kansas came into the Big 12 championship game as well as the tournament bracket with the top seeding. Their state competitors, Kansas State, was slated as the second seed in the tournament.
Another top team, Baylor, was seeded third and made it to the semifinals yesterday by easily defeating number six seed Texas.
Kansas State beat Oklahoma State easily on Thursday with the final score of 83-64.
Kansas beat number 4 Texas A&M by 13 with a final score of 79 to 66.
