Marquette Law School, Quarles & Brady open south-side legal clinic
Marquette University Law School is expanding its Marquette Volunteer Legal Clinic to a second site. The clinic, in partnership with Quarles & Brady, LLP, will begin operation Wednesday, Feb. 13, at the Spanish Center, 614 W. National Ave. Attorneys from Quarles & Brady will partner with volunteer Marquette law students to provide free legal information and referral services for low-income individuals from the south side of Milwaukee. Bilingual (Spanish/English) services will be available at the site.
(Media-Newswire.com) - Marquette University Law School is expanding its Marquette Volunteer Legal Clinic to a second site. The clinic, in partnership with Quarles & Brady, LLP, will begin operation Wednesday, Feb. 13, at the Spanish Center, 614 W. National Ave. Attorneys from Quarles & Brady will partner with volunteer Marquette law students to provide free legal information and referral services for low-income individuals from the south side of Milwaukee. Bilingual ( Spanish/English ) services will be available at the site.
The south-side clinic will be open every Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. No appointment is necessary. The MVLC will continue to operate at the House of Peace Community Center on 17th and Walnut Streets, where it provides free walk-in legal services every Tuesday between 3 and 7 p.m.

The Marquette Volunteer Legal Clinic is celebrating its sixth year of operation. The volunteer attorneys and Marquette law students serve the Milwaukee community by providing pro bono legal information and referral services to individuals in need of legal assistance, while providing law students with the opportunity to enhance their classroom learning, observe practicing attorneys, and receive professional mentoring.
Since 1964, the mission of the Spanish Center/Council for the Spanish Speaking has been to advocate for and empower the socially and economically challenged, with a focus on the needs of Milwaukee Latinos. Its bilingual and culturally competent staff delivers educational programs and social and human services to families, children, youth, and the aging, to help them overcome the social, economic, linguistic and cultural barriers to self sufficiency.
